Ramakant Sharma
Ramakant a prominent name in the field of Body Building in the region. He has a Strong built, smart look and hard working guy. He was born and brought up in Mohali originally belongs to Badali Ala Singh village of district Fatehgarh Sahib. His father was an employee of Punjab School Education Board and his mother a housewife. He has great interest for sports from his school days.
He joined Semiconductor Complex Limited, S.A.S.Nagar (Mohali) in 1987. He started with weight lifting from SCL Club along with his friends and very soon it becomes a passion for him. He started working hard and remain busy for hours in his practice. He start taking part in competitions at local level and his performance improved day by day. As a result of his hard work and dedication he was awarded with the highest title for the Body Building in region "Mr. Chandigarh" for the first time in 1992, after this he remain in lead and remain 'Mr. Chandigarh' for eight times. With his continuous hard work and dedication he never looks back and add large number of titles to his credit, these titles are:
He was also honored for his outstanding achievements in his field on Independence Day. A sum of Rs.50,000/- was given by the then SDM, Jaipal Singh on behalf of the sports lovers of the town for his participation in the Asian Body Building Championship to be held in Busan, South Korea.
He exercises for 4 hours daily, 2 hours in morning and 2 hours in evening near competition. His daily diet comprises of 60% Carbohydrate, 30% Protein and 10% fat. He takes 20 eggs, 500gm chicken and 1 liters of skimmed milk. On off season daily he took 1 kg chicken, 40 eggs, 400gm Rice, 1.5 Kg Potato, Daliya, Fruits, Skimmed Milk, Vitamins and Amino Acid tablets. On off season he gains weight and near competitions he gives shape to his muscles, four days a week are sufficient to build rippling muscles.
According to him exercise and healthy food are must for maintaining good health. He never takes soft drinks, sweets, fried and spicy food.
